Terms and Conditions

Last updated: August 15, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to your use of the website uleaserental.com and to the reservations you make with U-Lease Car Rental (“U-Lease,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at 10200 Avenue des Récollets, Montréal-Nord, Québec H1H 4E6. By making a reservation, you (the “Renter”) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

1. Scope — these Terms and your rental contract

These Terms govern your use of our website and the reservation you make online. They are not the full rental contract. When you pick up a vehicle, you will review and sign a separate rental contract that sets out the specific and binding terms of your rental — including the exact vehicle, the rates, the security deposit amount and any hold, insurance coverage and any deductible, the mileage allowance, the fuel policy, and the condition of the vehicle. If anything in these Terms differs from the rental contract you sign at pickup, the signed rental contract governs your actual rental.

2. Definitions

  • “You” / “Renter” means the person who makes the reservation, the person named on the rental contract, and any Authorized Driver.
  • “Authorized Driver” means the Renter and any additional driver we have approved and listed on the rental contract. Only Authorized Drivers may operate the vehicle.
  • “Vehicle” means the automobile reserved or rented, together with its keys, tires, accessories, and equipment.
  • “Rental Period” means the time between vehicle pickup and return as stated on the rental contract.

3. Eligibility and Driver Requirements

  • The minimum age to rent and to drive our vehicles is 18 years old.
  • Every driver must hold a valid driver’s licence recognized in Québec and valid for the entire Rental Period.
  • Any additional driver must be presented to us and approved before driving. Only Authorized Drivers listed on the rental contract may operate the vehicle.
  • No credit card is required to rent from U-Lease. To rent, you need a valid driver’s licence and a security deposit (see Section 5).

4. Reservations and Confirmation

A reservation made online is a request to rent. It is confirmed only once you receive a confirmation from us. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (name, dates, pickup and return locations, and contact details). If a reserved vehicle becomes unavailable, we may offer a comparable vehicle or cancel the reservation and refund any amount paid.

5. Prices, Taxes and Security Deposit

  • Rental rates are shown at the time of booking and are subject to applicable taxes (GST and QST) and any optional services you select. The exact charges for your rental are confirmed in your rental contract.
  • A security deposit is required at pickup. It may be paid by debit card, cash, credit card, or Interac e-Transfer — whichever is convenient for you. A credit card is never mandatory.
  • The exact deposit amount, how it is held, and how it is returned are set out in your rental contract, in accordance with applicable law.

6. Use of the Vehicle

You agree to use the vehicle carefully, lawfully, and only for its normal purpose, and to follow the conditions of use set out in your rental contract. In general, you agree to keep the vehicle secured and the keys in your control, to respect the mileage and fuel terms shown on your booking and rental contract, and to pay for tolls, parking, or fines incurred during your Rental Period unless they result from our fault.

7. Prohibited Uses

The vehicle must not be used, and you agree not to use or allow it to be used:

  • By anyone who is not an Authorized Driver or does not hold a valid driver’s licence;
  • While impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any substance that affects the ability to drive;
  • To commit or assist any illegal act;
  • In any race or speed contest, for reckless driving, or off regularly maintained roads;
  • To carry passengers or property for hire, to tow or push another vehicle, or to carry more passengers than there are seat belts;
  • To carry hazardous, explosive, or illegal materials, or a load beyond the vehicle’s rated capacity;
  • Outside Canada — the vehicle may be driven into the United States only with our prior written approval. Driving it outside Canada without that approval is a breach of these Terms and of your rental contract.

8. Insurance and Responsibility

The vehicle is covered by automobile insurance as required by Québec law. The coverage that applies to your rental, and your responsibility for any deductible or for loss or damage during your Rental Period, are set out in your rental contract and apply to the extent permitted by law. We recommend you confirm your coverage before you drive.

9. Accidents, Theft and Reporting

In the event of an accident, theft, vandalism, or mechanical problem, you agree to notify us as soon as possible and, where required, to report the incident to the police and obtain a report. You agree to cooperate with any investigation or insurance claim.

10. Return of the Vehicle

You agree to return the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, and in the condition described in your rental contract. A late return may result in additional charges as set out in your rental contract. To extend the Rental Period, contact us and obtain our agreement before the return time.

11. Cancellations and Changes

You may cancel or change your reservation free of charge by contacting us at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup time, using the details in Section 16. If you paid any amount when booking, it will be refunded to your original method of payment. For a cancellation or change requested less than 24 hours before pickup, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

12. Personal Information and Privacy

We collect and use your personal information (such as your name, contact details, driver’s licence, and booking history) only to process and manage your reservation, provide the rental service, meet our legal obligations, and communicate with you. We ask for your consent where required and use your information only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

Your personal information is stored on servers located in Canada (Montréal, Québec). We keep it only as long as necessary for those purposes or as required by law, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. You may access or correct your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by contacting our privacy officer at info@uleaserental.com. We handle personal information in accordance with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be submitted to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec.

14. Language

These Terms are available in French and in English. A French version is provided to you; where you have chosen to proceed in English, you confirm you have agreed to do so. In case of any inconsistency, the French version prevails, as required by the Charter of the French Language.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on uleaserental.com at the time of your reservation applies to that reservation.
